How We Operate

The members of BioAngels meet monthly in Adelaide, South Australia to access, discuss, review and evaluate potential investment opportunities in the general field of Life Sciences.  At meetings, members share their investment and mentoring experiences. We help investee companies through the provision of business expertise, and where applicable we assist in the preparation of applications for competitive grants, link investees with other angel networks and, where appropriate, introduce investees to venture capital fund managers.

Investment Criteria & Targets

BioAngels’ investments are targeted at promising early-stage Life Sciences companies that have been established by entrepreneurs and are seeking both capital and mentoring assistance. Our members are committed to providing mentoring support to investees and will call upon each other to assist with this added value.

Ideally, BioAngels seeks investee companies that have capable and experienced management, a product or service that answers a market demand, has a protectable competitive advantages, revenues or near revenues, and one in which our commitment of capital, time and skills will make a real difference. Companies with the need for long-term and expensive R&D programs before they expect to become profitable are likely to be less attractive to us.

Expectations

We expect that entrepreneurs seeking investment funding have developed a suitable business plan for the company that, although not necessarily a lengthy document addresses all the following:
