BioAngels Inc endorses the National Privacy Principles (set out in amendments to the Privacy Act 1988) and has adopted them in the management of personal information.  BioAngels Inc is committed to protecting the privacy of members and non-members, ensuring that the security of personal information is maintained within the organisation.
Under the Privacy Act, personal information means information or an opinion, true or false and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity can be reasonably ascertained from that information or opinion.

BioAngels Privacy Policy

This policy is designed to help members and non-members better understand what personal information is collected, how it is collected, how BioAngels Inc maintains and uses the personal information and how personal information is disclosed.

BioAngels Inc receives information including name, address, telephone, email and facsimile contact details and professional profile information from members and non-members.  This information is received in physical or electronic form from membership applications, membership renewal/updates as well as funding application forms or event booking forms.  Information is also received when BioAngels is contacted via the telephone, facsimile or e-mail or while attending BioAngels functions/events.   

The personal member information is essential to effectively communicate with members on organisational activities.  The annual subscription process is used to ensure that contact details are up-to-date and correct. We also request an update of each member’s professional profile at the time of subscription renewal.  We maintain and use this information in written and/or electronic form to provide members with information and services that will be of personal and/or professional benefit to them.

Bioangels Inc collects and maintains personal information about non-members, ie entrepreneurs, for the purpose of assessing funding proposals.  We maintain and use this information in written and/or electronic form.

We do not disclose personal information of members or non-members to any third party unless we are required or authorised to do so by law.

Confidentiality & Security

All personal data are stored in written and/or electronic form.  BioAngels Inc  maintains this information physically and electronically and procedures are in place to safeguard and protect personal information.  Access is restricted to persons who are rightfully authorised to access this information and we are committed to ensuring that any personal information remains confidential and secure.

Changes to this Policy

BioAngels Inc reserves the right to review this policy, from time to time.  We reserve the right to amend this policy at any time and to notify members, entrepreneurs and other clients of amendments by posting an updated version on our website www.bioangels.org.
